Real GDP growth shows the percent change compared with the previous year. The growth rate is calculated on the basis of chain linked volumes. Chain linked volumes (i.e., GDP in constant prices) is obtained by successively applying previous year's price's growth rates to the current price figure of a specific reference year e.g. 2010. The use of a time series of GDP in chain linked volumes rather than current prices removes the impact of price changes and shows the volume change in GDP.

Data is regularly updated and may differ from other sources.

Comment on the decrease 2018: A decrease in the financial sector's operating surplus after several particularly strong years coincides with a particularly unprofitable year in the shipping industry. Together, these factors account for about two-thirds of the total decrease.

Norway

Definitions differ. Please find more information at the source in the Eurostat table tec00115 and related metadata.

Nordic region

The GDP growth rate for the Nordic Region is calculated as a weighted rate based on the indivudal countries chain linked volumes (not as a simple addition of the individual countries' chain linked volumes).
